I'm using timeline as a tool for my students embed on a google site using the iframe-gadget. I also use Google spreadsheet as input method. The thing is that when i use Chrome (as most of my students do) it won't. Neither on my iMac or on my work, using a W7-notebook. I tried on notebook with latest IE and it works as well as on my iMac using Safari. It's just when I use Chrome it wont work.
Is this a known bug or are there a work around?
I am pretty sure this is the same problem discussed in this other forum thread. Some browsers will not load iframe content with a different URL schema than on the main page; since Google Sites pages are served from https servers, the iframe src also has to load from an https server.
The solution is to replace the " http://cdn.knightlab.com/libs/timeline/latest/embed" in the url with " https://s3.amazonaws.com/cdn.knightlab.com/libs/timeline/latest/embed".
I just tried this solution and got this error message back:
in Chrome. In IE 7 I get a 403 error.
Has this stopped working? Is there another solution I can try? I'm embedding the timeline in a Canvas LMS on a secure server.

When I use this embed (the one I prepared earlier this year), the timeline works. When I go through the wizard on TimelineJS, and use the KnightLabs CDN iframe, I get nothing.

I'm having the same problems; everything works fine (in Chrome) as I construct and paste the embed code in our LMS (Schoology). But then nothing shows up as a result. I tried the fix listed above but got the same result as Mary Watt.
The timeline views fine when I'm in IE, but my school has Chromebooks, so that's not going to be a solution for us.
First, it is not clear to me that Marjorie's problem is the same as Mary Watt's or KFouss's.
But most importantly, if we can't reproduce the problem you report, we can't fix it. So I ask everyone reporting issues to be as specific as possible with information about how we can see what you see.

When I change the URL part of the iframe src in your post -- resulting in this:
-- I get a functioning Timeline in Chrome.
When I take the part of your URL that points to your Google spreadsheet (0Ao3Ts9D8bHHpdDd3V2JuX2UzYUdOVXB1Q0pqd0hmTHc) and use that on timeline.knightlab.com, once again, I get a functioning timeline in Chrome.
So, for anyone reporting this problem, please provide either exactly the iframe src URL that is not working correctly, or the entire embed code from step 4 of the 'Make a timeline" section on timeline.knightlab.com. If when we get that from you, it also doesn't work for us, we'll have a lead to pursue. If it does work for us, we'll need to ask more questions to understand what is different in the two scenarios.

Hi! I am having a similar issue—when I try dropping the timeline into a Google Site on Chrome, it shows up as a blank iframe. I tested it in Safari and it works, but no one uses Safari!!
