Removing lines between points and changing icons

Hi, I'm trying to figure out if there is an option to turn of the route line between points. I am doing a guide in a neighborhood, rather than a path, so there is no need for the lines between each icon.

Also, is there a way to change the color of the icon to indicate a different type of point, say, red for one kind of place and green for another?
